Title: My Mk1 Caddy Project UPDATE! 01/06/11

Here is my Caddy build thred and the stuff ive done so far.

right picked up a mk1 caddy 1.6d the other day and i was guna run it as it is till feb then do a engine change...

but drivin it home i relized .... hmm... might got a lemom...

so got on with this..

didnt get anywork done on the caddy as was still sorting out the lockup but its all ready now so next weekend work will commence  O0

Right i got alot of work done over the weekend and would of updated this lot but sunday nite my apendix desided to try and kill me lol

yeh i cant eather guna get alot done this saturday i plan to have the underside completey striped and cut ready for welding.

Thanks and its my 1st mk1 but i know its not guna be my last love them  :shocked:
and yeh the space is gr8 was lucky that i was b!tchin about my garage to my m8 and he got me in contack with his uncle  :tongue:

Right got sum more caddy work done with the help of sum m8s :)

Nice going fella, sorry to hear you had to go under the knife, bad timing. seems like you got straight back on the case though!  :cool:

Right little update

got abit more welding and striping and painting done on Mr Cad

Then i needed 2 get the last bits off the mk3 like the gear shif n fuel tank
so

Also stiped the Abf engine down and the heads off 2 get skimed and crack tested
no pic of that as i didnt see the point.

Today was soo good..

Put the Brake lines thew the cab ready to put the fuel lines with them then box them in saftely..

Then put the new Shocks / Blocks / Bolts on...
she dont sit very low on the back tho and they were the bigest blocks...
 im guessing the new shocks n that need 2 settle down or sumit??

with i know and puting it down has givin me such a boost to crack on with it..

God bord of the horrid vibratie ness of the big wire wheel on the grinder.
going 2 get a smaller one so its less harsh on my arms
but its a start :)




Then i Started on abit more cutting and welding... sorry about the number
of pics but i rember lookin at how other people did
things in great detail
 and it really helped me so hoping this might help somewone one day lol

Made a plate and trimed / bent it to fit..

Then Weldie / grindy ready 2 skim with sum filler and u will never know

Then i was checking out sumit that i didnt like the look of and stripped it fully
 back all the filler
and found a right bodge..

Then i sprayed it all up with a rust treating chemical and i will knock up a plate during the week and do that next :)
