Help....engine management light and EPC
« on: 13 April 2023, 14:46 »
Oh my days what is this car doing to me! Check oil came up so oil checked, it's low so needs a top up. Reseated the dip and now EPC and engine management lights are on. EPC goes off when engine starts, but not the management light.

Cars running fine, no noises or loss of power, but something's causing that light.

Vehicle status screen shows no errors.

We plugged in a cheap code reader which gave an old code P2014 engine manifold sensor error

Anyone have any clue? Cars being sold next weekend so got to get it diagnosed and fixed and local garages are full.

Help please. Will try everything!

Whereabouts are you based? Maybe there is someone nearby who is able to use an OBDEleven or Vagcom or something to get you a bit more detail

Just had similar with my MK7 PP and was showing errors on the air balance MAP/MAF.  I cleaned the MAF sensor but to no avail. Visited a non VW local mechanic who specialises in performance cars, loves the MQB platform, and has VAGCOM plugged in a saw the PCV valve was failing to fully close. To be replaced tomorrow.

Update: Well Carl from CJ Mechanical (https://cjmechanical.co.uk) did a cracking job. He knows VW and performance cars inside out. Not only did the new PCV valve sort the engine light and rough idling etc as expected, but I'll swear it has more immediacy and poke under the right foot.
