1.6 clutch problems !
« on: 27 August 2007, 15:29 »
Hello folks
Havin a problem with my 89 1.6cl  the clutch started slippind when under load so i fitted a new clutch , however the one i took out didnt really seem that bad , now its worse than ever :( pedal feels alot better much more pressure there now but tha biting point is at the very end of the pedal as in my knee hits the steerin wheel now and it slipps really badly !
Been told the cable is self adjustin ? but is there anyway of adjustin it manually ? or could it be knackered in which case could the problem be the cable to start with ?
Any advice will be very much appreciated ?
Thanks in advance Mat

Hi, if its the auto adjuster cable you have it will most likely be the ratchet adjuster.   These are pants!  once they lock up they never work again so must be repplaced as a matter of course.

its about £35 for a new one so i would get a new cable on before anything else.
