conclusion: everything is within tolerances, amazingly the crank looks and measures up to be good as new.

the block is flexhoned.

It's looking good for the rebuild next week

today went to the vw dealer and orderd:
-crank main cap bolts
-crank other bolt
-new cambeltcover(old one was pitted)

1PM saturday: started building the engine

new intermediate shaft bearings:




new mainbearings:


crank with new bolts:


crank, new pistonsrings, new conrodbearings:




new seals:


reinz headgasket:


cylinderhead, polished valves, valves seats are done, valveguides replaced
