Well my 8v Gti gear change was like stirring porridge, massive amount of forward and backward play. found the problem was a worn bush on the relay shaft so £15 and 15 minutes later its fixed and along with a new clutch cable has transformed the way the old girl drives..
Only got pics with the new but its the same...

Lol, its a very easy job, Dolly Spanner Rating on 1-10 is 2 as you have to get under the car, wouldnt advise doing it on the widow maker that is supplied in the boot though

Just finished replacing mine, on my mk3, this guide was very helpful, an easy job that was 15 minutes well spent.
Nice slick gear change again!

Brilliant guide wish I'd have had this when tackling it on my mk2.
Vee Dub Machine do a nice little kit I have also found out, I got all my parts from GSF though.

This could help me out a lot as its getting harder n harder to get back in to second gear, is this in the same location in all mk2s? as i have a 1.3 and pretty sure my clutch cable setup is different from this. cheers.
