1995 VW Golf - 1600 Rolling Stones in Blue
« on: 18 October 2011, 20:11 »
Evening all,

I have just acquired a 1995 VW Golf - 1600 Rolling Stones in Blue.  It was both out of necessity fro a cheap reliable driver and I have always fancied a Golf.  I made a conscious decision to stay away from the GTI to ensure cheap insurance and the possibility of buying something that has been ragged by boy racers.  Being nearly 50, my days of flying around at max revs are over, so the car will lead a sedate life.

Some minor jobs to do on the car, a bit of rust on a wheel arch and below the drivers side rear light where there once was a badge of some sort.  Other than that it seems to be OK at the moment and quite a nice little drive.  Although my fast driving days are over, I like a little pimping of the ride so I shall tart it up a bit internally etc.

Although reasonably handy with a spanner this is my first Golf so I shall be learning as I go.  Any info on the Rolling Stones bit would be useful or pointers to look out for gratefully received.  I am based in the Peterborough area and always willing to lend a hand if required, just shout out.

I shall set to reading up on the forum now.

Regards

Jon
