Title: VagCom for Mk6

I'm considering buying VagCom, but I'm unsure of which version I need?
Also, those on Fleabay, do they work as well as the original or is it not worth the risk?

mk6 is can.... for that you need a proper version of vcds, them cheap ebay cables don't work for that as they are not fast enough and dont support the can protocol....

go to ross-tech.com and buy the hex-can interface and software for 299$

best software round and cheapest option really unless you want to pay someone for stealing someone else's program, hacking it and paying someone in china for copying the cable.

Thanks for the prompt response.

So looking at the RT website, do I need the $349 version as that's the only one that specifically mentions CAN?

ah yeah you will need either the hex-usb+can for 349 or the micro can for 249 - the latter can only be used for mk5/6 golfs and cars that are based on the same interface. the hex-usb-can can also be used for older cars.
