Title: dont really understand whats going on....!

hey,

? ? ? ?im posting this on behalf of my brother....

Basically, hes recently installed a 400watt jbl ampifier he got cheaply from a friend, powering 2x vibe rectangular 800watt 6x9's,? since it was installed it has been cutting out part of the way through a song, which is a pain in the arse! and im unsure as to whats causing it... wiring is fine, and the amp itself seems to be a-ok! any suggestions would be most appreciated!...

i'd suggest checknig the earth for the AMP is good.. thats usually the reason they cut out randomly

id also suggest checking that the amp its overheating as the thermal cut out would stop the amp. Also if u have the gain turned up too far and the speakers are trying to draw too much power from the amp then the amp will clip and cut out. :cool:
