What detailing have you done today?

Looks super shiny again Rebecca. IMO it actually didn’t look that bad before you cleaned it, considering it was wearing 10 weeks-worth of grime. Just goes to show the benefits you get from a good coating or two of wax or sealant.

10 weeks without a clean due to being busy and crap weather etc, longest any car of mine has been without a clean. 

Minimal contact method. I like it.

Did a wee front arch strip,degrease and BH Dynax UC. Amazed at how easy this stuff is to apply.

I've finally, after all sorts of delays, got around to claying my GTI and giving it a decent coat of wax.

I used my new Wo-Wo clay mitt, which worked very well, using a Quick Detailer as a lubricant, and used DoDo Juice Super Hybrid wax.  Quite a lot of work, but well worth the effort.  I'll repeat the exercise in the Autumn, as preparation for winter.  Tomorrow I'm hoping to finish off by waxing the wheels with Poorboys Wheel Wax, giving the tyres a wipe over with Gtechniq Tyre and Trim, and using Auto Finesse Dressle on the rest of the trim.

Still needs a full on detail - decon, DA etc, but I think it scrubs up (not literally ) pretty well for a daily driver that’ll be 3 years old this Sept.  Still love it as much as the day I got it.  More in fact.

What microfiber cloths are you using to buff off the wax?

I`m asking because last week I waxed my black Mk6, it looked great until the next day in the sunshine then it looked like I had a dull `haze` on the paint.

Too much product? Product not removed properly or do I need better microfibers? Or all three? lol.

I have washed it since and then QD`d it but it still looks the same. I feel I might have to start again

Ordered some goodies as I've run out of a few bits. Thought I'd try out some Gtechniq W4 citrus snowfoam, just to see what it's like as I find others of their products to be very good. Also ordered some FinishKare Pink Wax, I use their 1000P high temperature sealant which is very good and they recommend the Pink Wax to be applied on top for a deeper wet look gloss. For £18 it seemed worth a go Plus a few other replacements.

Must give some thought to repairing the many stonechips, when my car last went in for bodywork the garage sorted a couple on the hatch door. Just paint, no clear coat, but even so I don't even notice them anymore so I can't make too much of a hash of it. Probably
