What's less safe abour rear DRL activation as I have this activated and struggle to understand why its not standard?
In daylight, front DRLs make a vehicle coming towards you more noticable. You don't need to be made aware of a vehicle moving away from you by the illumination of tail lights, as the hazard is, errrr, moving away.
If light levels are low enough that visibility from behind could be compromised then auto lights or the headlight switch will take care of that.
The only thing that rear DRLs will do is protect the stupid. You know, the people you see driving in the rain/fog/dark with DRLs and no tail lights. The issue here isn't the lack of rear
Daytime Running Lights it's some peoples inability to know how and when to use there vehicles lights properly.
