Hi everyone,
New in here but post a few times recently.
Anyway, after having my Mk8 GTI less than a week, I am ready to change the Richmond standard wheels, but I’m having trouble choosing.
I’m going to stay on 18s as I like the ride and it’s saves me money as I will be using the factory tyres of the standard wheels.
What are peoples thoughts on the below? I do like the Adelaide's but also think the Pretoria’s. Would the gloss black be too much on a black car.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated as I feel like I’m losing my mind deciding.
Thanks for looking.

For me I think Gunmetal would look best on a black car

Following as I'm in the exact same boat, however how about an 18" Estoril from CM? Someone has them on an R-Line I seen but its hard to tell what its really like due to the suspension difference to the CS, they looked to have a big gap. Id be keen to see an Adelaide in 18" too though.

Or the Brescia?

I have to say they look brilliant and for me the right size. I am concerned 18s will look to small but they don’t on that.

I like them all just so hard to chose without seeing them first. I’m siding with the Adelaides as I like them.

I’m the same, prets are easiest choice as I’ve seen them on a car but the others it’s too difficult to visualise.
This was an image someone sent me of 18” estorils. It’s worth checking the width as not all the cm wheels are 8x18 and et45. Some are only 7.5 and a different offset.

Black 19" Prets all the way

The Adelaides from CM are 18 x 7.5.

They look well against the white but I think might be lost on a black car. I’m sticking to 18’s for two reason. Want to cut the cost down and use the stock tyres and want to keep the comfortable ride.

Have you seen this one on 18” cm prets?

They look good but not for me. They look big enough so again, confirm for me 18s will be fine. If only there was one with the gun metal ones. Not sure if they would look right to be fair.

There’s a post on one of the Facebook groups, these look like silver 18s

10/10 for effort mate. You keep finding these pics. Again the look nice but just don’t do it for me. It’s all personal preference like. What are you thinking now you have seen all these photos? I think it going to go for the Adelaides as I think they really suit the car.

I’m toying between black Pretoria 18s and black estoril 18 if they start to make them. My car is white though.
The decider will be whichever one is 8x18 and et45 as they fill the arches better.
I’m also toying with BBS XR in black 18” with BBS being a bit of a homage to the mk1 and 2 gti. They’re not much more but obviously don’t look OEM
-
Another find. White car on BBS XR 18” the owner told be this wasn’t lowered at this stage

Richmonds = 18 x 7.5 ET51
From CM wheels:
Adelaide/Estoril/Clubsport = 18 x 7.5 ET45
Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 6mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 6mm more than before.
Pretoria = 18 x 8 ET45
Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 0.3mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 12.4mm more than before.
BBS XR = 18 x 8 5x112 ET44
Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 0.7mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 13.4mm more than before.
