This is the other car in the family. I bought it in 2015, ran it for two years and then passed it onto the Mrs.

It hasn't been perfect but has been a good car overall. 2.0 170bhp diesel.

I see you've remove the 'cat'  (i can't be the only one thinking it lol).
My brother-in-law is an independent Alfa mechanic and self-confessed Italian car nut so would fully appreciate your car, he stopped watching Top Gear because they said something bad about Alfa's. They do make some nice cars but he always has a steady stream of customers!
A chequered previous car history (mainly blue oval, sorry) prior to owning Golf's.
2001 mk4 TDI - died at some traffic lights due to someone not stopping!
2000 mk4 GTD - a dog of a car, sold to WBAC in limp mode!
2000 mk4 1.8T - most fun i've had in a Golf (until now) but nearly cost me my licence!
2020 mk7.5 Tornado Red TCR - current ride.

A good Alfa specialist will always have a good supply of work. Not because the cars are necessarily bad, but because good specialists are a rare thing and the dealers are generally useless.

McLaren 570S

I've toyed with the idea several times and friends who have gone the route have fallen over themselves to stop me swearing they'd never do it again. How has ownership been for you?

I am slightly disappointed in myself that I don't get as excited over Mclarens as I perhaps should?

I know a few owners, one had a 570S for a few months,,,,,he replaced it with a 981 GT4 and is happier!

Something about the grass being greener etc....??? :)

I won't say never again - and it is a box ticked - but I could not hand on heart recommend buying one.

I sold a GT4 to buy the McLaren and am currently looking for either a GT3 or a GT4. Will keep the CSS though!
