Perhaps some residue from the HVAC on the screens? Must give my windows a good clean to see.
It gets real distracting driving into the sunset.

I don’t think cleaning the inside of the screen has made any difference in any of the cars I’ve owned with the sparkly glass. Maybe I didn’t clean it thoroughly enough though as cleaning the inside of the screen is one of my least favourite jobs when I clean my car……..

Not a clue what it is, but I was driving in the early morning and the sun was directly in front of me and it looked like loads of tiny sand grain stone chips on the screen. I tuned off the heat(what there was with a cold engine) from the screen and used a semi rough cloth and my breath on a small bit to test and it came off. So the next morning I cleaned the whole inside of the screen and not a single one is there now.

Only reason I new it was not the outside as my screen is ceramic coated so thought I would try the inside.

Thanks for posting. Hopefully it'll have improved then after yesterdays clean. Fingers crossed!

Still sparkly. I'll try decontaminating and polishing the screen next.

I emailed Pilkington to see what their experts had to say. They replied with the following:

Apologies, I am unsure as to what this is.

We have not been made aware of this before.

I am afraid we are unable to help you on this.

Thanks Pilkington...

I washed mine on Saturday, avoided wax overspray and gave it a polish with Fast Glass - all good.

Evening all

I've noticed something odd with my windscreen, when the sun is low, but bright, all over my windscreen it's like it's the upmarket metallic version. Completely covered in tiny sparkles, even when clean. Not a major issue but once seen, can't be forgotten! Any ideas?

Cheers!

Exactly the same issue! I clay barred mine. You can also get a razor sharp blade to run down the screen, almost like when you shave your face. However, I'd recommend watching a YouTube video on how to do it so you don't scratch it. Lastly, it may need light machine buff.
