MK8 GTI Questions
« on: 28 October 2021, 12:29 »
Me again!

Is there in-depth info on what changes when you change the driving settings from ECO, Comfort, Sport etc?

Such as do these cars have a flap in the exhaust that changes sound?

Have a look at individual mode setup.... in that you can see what will change vs the factory profile choices.

And yes, exhaust noise is different if you select Sport for it.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

There isn't an exhaust flap as such but there must be something in the engine map that allows some crackles and pops in sport mode. The car doesn't revert to comfort either if you turn it off in sport mode but the DSG does revert to comfort drive mode. Also weirdly you have to reengage sport mode in the driving modes to get the pops and not just flick the lozenge to sport (if that makes sense?)
Current - Awaiting a milkfloat
Previously
2021 Mk8 GTI Clubsport - Atlantic Blue
2017 MK7.5 GTI Performance - Tornado Red
First steps into Golf ownership -
2003 Mk4 GtTdi PD150 Oceanic Green
2002 Mk4 GtTdi PD150 Reflex silver
