It's nearly a year old and the DIS is flagging its service time, what kind of prices have people been quoted / haggled?

If you can include your vague location that would be good too..

ahh see I'm getting quoted circa £215 for a 1st Variable service, what is the actual difference between a 1st Variable and a 1st Minor Service?  I have done 19k miles and it's never seen a dealer since it's birth / initial teething trouble week.

I had the car set to long life so it was 18.5K miles before its first, no idea, but that sounds like alot.  I have to admit, it was only Oil + Filter though, so I would ask what are you getting for £215.

Bit of digging around and so she's now booked in for Friday for £159.  think I could have got it cheaper but I'm a tad busy to be doing all that.

18.9k miles by friday still quite a bit down on what I was expecting to be doing this year.  Bit of a happy birthday service (without the courtesy wash, she'll be getting some extra special lovin on Sunday).  Now just need to find the cash for Road Tax, and Roadside Assist, VW offered me £155 for two years, seems ok, anyone know if they budge on that price?
