Title: GOLF MK4 1.9 AUTOMATIC GEARBOX

Hi sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section. I am interested in buying a Golf 1.9 TDI MK4 in automatic. Does anybody know how these automatic gearboxes are in the MK4? In terms of reliability and usability? Do they require a gearbox service similar to the DSG gearboxes that replace them? The car is a W reg 2000 model and has 103k on the clock. I know very little about them in comparison to the DSG gearboxes in the mk5 golf and onwards. They also seem to be very rare.
