And yes, you should be entitled to a car courtesy of VW, though personally I think you should take up Mr W's offer and run his car in properly for a while... 
Ah, I'm not really such a grumpy pants Mr Ex.
Just seem to spend a lot of time placating and reasurring others atm; work, home, etc, but vice versa, it's in short supply. Anyway,

If needs be I have use of other vehicle for some of the time (a Mitsubishi Warrior pickup - don't say anything), but I might follow up the courtesy car route if needs be later on.
