Title: Red Basttery Warning LightON and Steering Very Stiff
Post by: Brazzerie on 08 July 2023, 18:04
Does these two things mean it's the alternator or could it be something else instead or as well anyone?

My first thought was the drive belts come off.

Sounds good. Looking it up, it says it drives the alternator and the power steering....

You were right, the auxiliary drive belt is no longer there! What are the most likely reasons for it to have broken or fallen off? I remember it happened just after a big acceleration to join a motorway

I would make sure the alternator and PAS pulleys (and any other pulleys this belt drives) are not unusually hard to turn.

It's probably just an old belt that's had enough.
