« on: 04 June 2011, 23:03 »
What options is there for upgrading the turbo (if any) and what sort of prices are they?

I have a Mk5 Gt TDI 170.

Thanks

may be worth directing this in the main section - the TDi section is rather quiet

i assume the same rules apply with petrol turbo's, wouldnt know prices though

For the 140 engine they say with supporting mods stage 1 hybrid 200-220bhp and stage 2 220-240bhp.. All info on their site and about 900 for a new unit..

They use a gt20 compressor wheel and a 360 degree thrust bearing and loads of other tips and tricks like blueprinting the turbo..

they are worth it imo.. will do some more research soon what supporting mods would be needed.. but at the end of the day the turbo can be fitted and mapped to suit the mods you have and remapped when you get better parts like bigger injectors etc..
