I am looking at a Golf Mk2 GTI 16v and that is between 3.5-5.5K a year, I have only been driving 6 months.

Phoned a couple of companies up direct and still stupid quotes.

But I asked one about  my situation, parents driving my car because theirs is bad on fuel etc. and them driving it more then me and me having a work car and they said it's all cool!    Providing the main driver owns the log book etc and does most of the driving of the vehicle.

Sorrrrted.

Goodo,
glad you asked the insurers about your situation.  I would not have thought this comes under fronting because, you have use of another vehicle as your main ride and you wouldn't have owned the golf and you would drive it less the the owner/main driver. No fronting at all but simply your parents let you choose the car for them.
I would agree with the "get on the ladder and earn ncd/ncb" but as you will have a traders policy that is all irrelevant as ncd/ncb isn't transferible most of the time, in that way.

What were the conditions of getting a tradres policy?

It's as simple as this:

- Shop around

- Policy and car in your own name

- Add parents as named drivers

- Don't front

- Earn no claims yourself
