Title: Installing android radio
Post by: tomstud12 on 29 January 2018, 10:04
Hello

I'm trying to connect my golf 2010 to an android radio. I just want to ask i have this Can bus ( Can-Bus (http://"https://www.amazon.co.uk/CAN-Bus-Multimedia-Interface-Integration-Radios/dp/B01N7W5TEE/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1517165304&sr=1-1&keywords=VW+CAN-Bus+Multimedia+Interface") ) and this radio ( Radio (http://"https://www.amazon.com/ATOTO-Navigation-A62721P-Entertainment-Multimedia/dp/B075W9GMPF") ) but rather than me have to snip all the wires and connect them separately.

Are there any plugs that i can connect to the radio and do the can-Bus adapter? I seen these but these are for pioneer ( Example (http://"http://enfigcarstereo.com/ENFIG_PNP_PIO0237.html") )

Thanks

Most of the Android units I have seen for sale on Ebay come with the correct connectors and canbus adapter?  Pretty sure they should be plug and play?

Without knowing what unit you want to fit exactly it's anyone's guess what comes with it as standard.

However you will need a CAN bus adapter (do not be tempted to just 'wire it to ignition' - otherwise you're asking for trouble), this should be platform specific. Ask the seller if a mk6 platform spec CAN bus adapter is supplied with the unit, if not get one. The seller will no doubt want to make a sale and may tell you that you can just hard wire it
