They'll be similar to a Santiago or Brescia, but they are wider than both those wheels (8J vs 7.5J). I think the Golf R Prets are approx 10kg each.

Say 12.5kg - 10kg = 2.5kg per wheel × 4.

Roughly 25% heavier.

The weight saving is probably more significant for those with a Golf R as opposed to GTI/TCR/Ed40 owners, due to the haldex gear. Those with a GTI/GTD etc with factory 19's won't see too much difference, but if they were that concerned about the unsprung weight of the car they'd be running 18inch Team Dynamic 1.2's, not 19's.

Yep, for anyone running OEM Brescia's or Santiago's, these will be a similar weight. But compared to both standard 18's or Golf R Prets, these are heavier.

This website is very helpful for finding out wheel specs and weights ;

https://www.original-felgen.com/19zoll/

I'm not running them, but one of the drawbacks will be running stretched tyres together with your wheels sitting about 6mm closer to the kerb.

They're cast rather than flow formed, so there will be about 10kg additional weight, but the savings over the Golf R version make them quite tempting. I'd also expect them to be a little more robust than the Golf version too.

I previously ran the same spec BBS CI-R's (8J ET45) and found no issues with the stretched tyres (225/35R19), however I do prefer the look of the normal tyres over stretched. Surely they'd be a similar weight to the Santiago or Brescia options at around 12-13kg an alloy? Especially for those that would normally go toward the replica route that just want greater durability.

Thanks, off that website the weights are as follows for the below alloys:

Golf - Nogaro 18in - 10.2KG - 5G0 601 025 AQ FZZ

Golf - Pretoria - 10.8kg - 5G0 601 025 AJ Z49

Passat/T-Roc - Pretoria - 11kg - (Gloss Black 3G0 601 025 BS AX1), (Matte Graphite 3G0601025BS), (Silver 3g0601025bh2hh)

Santiago - 11.2kg - 5G0 601 025 AN FZZ

Brescia - 12kg - 5G0 071 499 B FZZ

I'm not 100% on the accuracy of this website for weights as previous members have weighed different alloys and had the following results:

Santiago without tyres; two suggestions at the link below - either 26.5 lbs / 12.02 kgs or 28.5 lbs / 12.93 kgs http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?p=459829

Prets without tyres; 22.2 lbs / 10.06 kgs http://forums.mwerks.com/showthread.php?7959361-Pretoria-and-Continental-Wheel-Tire-Weight

I'm also sceptical, for example silver 19 inch Prets for the Golf are stated as 10.8kg, but the same wheel in black is stated as 9.6kg.

Doesn't make sense

I've ordered a set of the Passat/T-Roc Pretorias so I will update this with an accurate weight when they arrive.

Also I just moved my Michelin Pilot Sports 4S' (225/35R19) across from the BBS CI-R's (8.5J) I had onto my Santiagos, before I sold the BBS. Does anyone have any photos of how the 225/35R19 will fit on a 8J alloy?

As I'm not sure whether I should get some 235/35R19's or not for a little bit more protection and comfort.

I got mine from Barnetts of St Andrews Volkswagen (Link below), saw them on ebay, exchaged a few messages and they had a great attitude. So rang them up and made a deal, although always get a quote from your local dealer they may be able to throw in free tyre fitting to help sweeten the deal if they can't beat the part price.

Are you getting them delivered or going to collect them? I bought a set of  new VW rims in Durham which I think was a similar distance from Cairnryan and I was advised to collect as the dealer told me they had never managed to send a set via courier which survived unscathed. It was a bit of a drive but a day out and was around £180 on a day return.

Delivered via Parcelforce, I've never had any issues with alloys being shipped to me. Since they won't have any tyres on them, they'll have to be sent in the original alloy wheel boxes which will protect them fine. As well as make a nice new home for my old Santiago alloys.
