OBD11 and 20 plate gti performance

VW has just swapped my gti due to an ongoing fault. Obviously the new car has all the end of line features.  In my old car which was a 68 plate I could turn off the headlight washers as I hated it when it would spray water all over the bonnet. The new 20 plate car has the active full beam assist and when I try and turn the headlight washer off in the obd apps it says not available.

Has anybody managed to turn it off or has vw blocked this due to the active headlight?

You need to use the long coding instead of apps. Apps are crap anyway.

I hope you can as I want to do that on my gti when I get it. I will only have the crappy Carista though  :smiley:

I thought I read on another thread it could be done on the later gti’s even with the likes of carista? I hope so as only going to get carista!

Carista did mine. Changed it to pull the stalk for 2.5 seconds. What’s crappy about Carista? Did all the mods I needed for £16.

Can you Confirm yours is one of the later models with dynamic light  assist fitted?

It is. Carista worked very well and the months “free” use was plenty. The app seems to be kept up to date. If you check out the beta stuff available, it includes extra choices for the digital dash.

Can't you adjust the washers so that they don't spray over the bonnet?
