Golf GTD re-map
« on: 22 June 2011, 16:57 »
Had my 59 plate 5dr GTD remapped today.

Was done by Paramount Performance in Slough, this was the first they had done and cost me 350+vat but! they are going to start charging more like £500 as they had to remove the ECU and also it was a nightmare on the 1st dyno run as the ESP kept cutting in even though it was turned off so they had to mess about for a bit. If you have plans to doe this to urs my advice is go somewhere they haven’t remapped a mk6 before, and keep it :lipsrsealed:

Started at 171bhp which was more than I expected then remapped to 203.1bhp not bad! Only had a little test since done but I can see the deference, especially in third, pulls really strong. Apparently i need to give it a week or so to settle as the cars ECU needs to re-adjust itself. After that apparently I may even get more BHP but let’s see.

Looking forward to the bug fest at Santa pod in July, will see what i can get on the strip, anyone going with a STD MK6 GTI? Fancy a race!!

Print out below. Another thing to note if you are considering this yourself, to put it back to standard you will have to pay again for the mk6 due to the need to remove the ECU, well that’s what paramount told me anyway...

Sorry but why is the power so lumpy or am I missing something obvious?

That torque and power curve look bloody awful. Not to mention what it's doing to the engine.

Get to a proper tuner and get that crap one refunded and standard map put on.
