I've always found pressure bleeders best for doing the clutch/brakes on systems like this but I have no experience of messing with the ABS. I think there's a bleed valve somewhere on the ABS pump.

Speedo sensor could be a pain. I know MartinB swapped an ABF into his Rado but that was an earlier KR car and I think the setup for the speedo on those is the same as GolfII and not like the later cars. He might be able to help though.

Reading on the C forum I think the only bleed we didn't do is on the master and I think that's the issue on the brakes.  I've got an air-bleeder, which pulls, rather than the pressure bleeders (I've got an EZIBleed too), that normally works well, but I've not got it out yet.

To be fair I've always had most success manual bleeding systems, with a one-way valve on them....... usually my thumb, while Mrs Hell pumps the pedal!

Replaced these today:

Now runs rather better.

Bit of toing and froing with the fusebox and now pretty much everything seems to be working OK.

So much so, it's outside home right now.  Very pleased to have it outside and running again

Bled off the master and took a LOT of air out of there, just with a pipe on.

Feels nice and firm now.

One slightly confusing thing is that there's a relay on the floor, Danny and I can't remember where the damned thing goes and this is what the fusebox looks like:

Motor seems a bit flat at the moment, so I'm wondering whether it's something like the lambda relay.

Of course, it might be some KE-jet black magic thing I don't need any more.

Fuseboard geeks step forward.  The relay out either has 72 or 73 on it, but it's outside and I'm inside and it's f*cking cold out there.

Relay 72 is the rear wiper relay and it should go in position 2.

Good work on the engine swap.
