Afternoon All!
Wondering does anyone know how much the stealers will bill me for if I ask for a replacement keyfob for my GTD? My car only ever came with one and I wont relax myself until I have 2 keys, just incase!
Need to call next week to get warranty & the car changed over to me under their records and ill be asking then, just want to know if I should bring a defibrillator with me or not lol
Cheers

Where did you acquire your car? If it was a main dealership, they should've sorted you out with a spare at their expense. Last time my Dad had to get one (about 4 years ago, for a MK5 Golf), it was £74 inc coding.

I had used the fact that it only had 1 key as well as 1 or 2 other things to get a few hundred knocked off the car
Rang up today and was quoted £250 including VAT and coding. Crazy isnt it lol

Nope no keyless entry. Rang up this afternoon and was quoted £255 lol. The fob itself it £155 and the remaining is for cutting and coding.
You can buy the exact geniune fob itself on ebay for 40 quid:

That is not a GTD fob thou
I would ask around.... some dealerships advertise on eBay. Sometimes worth a bit of a drive.

There is no GTD fob. You buy a bolt-on loop in GTD, GTI or R flavour, a single screw secures it to the standard fob. I wonder if there is a specific CS or CSS variant rather than GTI.

You don't get a blank key from a dealer. They order the blade and fob and then code it for you. £100 to plug your car into a computer is taking the water a bit and its done in less than half an hour!!
