Crash test footage

Have you guys seen this footage of the MK7 GTi being crash tested?

The slow-mo footage is very impressive to watch!

Reassuring to know that the car is a great performer in this area.

Saw this the other day, and the slow motion really shows the forces involved in a crash like that.

The headlights and the battery being launched out of the front of the car was the thing I noticed the most.

It did look like it performed quite well in that situation - just hope I never need to experience it.

No matter how many times I watch the footage I find it fascinating. Very reassuring to know our GTI's scored top marks!

As long as you don't brake causing the nose to dive and change completetly the angles and directions of the acting forces of impact...

I think the battery being a projectile is slightly worrying, its a heavy beast.

Is it just me or does the dummy actually miss the air bags?
I know the paint on its face is transferred to the air bag but looking at the slow motion its as if the dummy's head goes between the door and the steering wheel air bag

Dummy is not wearing his seat belt probably why his head edges of to the left.  Also the twisting forces turning the car around.
