GTI v CS silencer
« on: 05 April 2022, 15:43 »
Is there any internal difference between the stock GTI and CS rear silencers? Wondering if changing the GTI silencer would give a ‘better’ exhaust note or if they’re basically the same with different tips.

I know the valance and connection to mid-pipe are a straight swap.

Not sure if you have seen this video, but it could be worth a watch:

Yeah, it was the DAP video that sparked the idea. However, I’ve read the US GTI doesn’t have an OPF and the standard US GTI exhaust is a different spec compared to EU. I’ve read speculation that the EU GTI and CS exhausts are basically the same spec and any noise differences are tune related, hence my question here.

I was interested up to the point at which he demo'ed the two back to back at the end.

My GTI doesn't sound like his original to start with...
