Title: Leon Cupra TDI
Post by: tech1889 on 10 April 2011, 20:33
Thought might as well do a dub rides thread..

Well i bought this car in January it had 168kish on the clock.. Full service history etc etc.. Well coming to this from my 1.8T i soon got bored and wanted to sell it   After many swaps on pistonheads i decided to keep the car and tune it to how i want it... The car its self is in very good condition and hasnt missed a beat since my ownership all it needs as im picky is a front respray as there are plenty of stone chips which are to be expected..

It already had a stage 1 map on it from RTech so i went up to see Nick and got him to check over the car.. All was well and was pulling very good except for a minor boost leak.. So i was a happy bunny..

Spec so far..

170k on the clock
Platinum Grey
18" RS8 wheels or whatever they called... (just bought 2 new tires)
Cat-Back custom exhaust with Cupra R style tip (no silencers or back box so it roars)
Stage 1 clutch and new master cylinder
Standard brakes all round
Stage 1 RTech map.. 196bhp and 310 ft/lb's of torque
sh!t seats yet in good condition
Climate control
electric / heated / folding mirrors
ABS and Traction Control
Electric windows etc etc...

Parts on their way

Porsche Boxster S Front Callipers
312mm EBC Vented Drilled and Grooved discs
Turbo Dynamics Stage 2 Hybrid turbo good for 260bhp with the right supporting mods..
Pipercross panel filter
Decat and Large bore downpipe
New Cupra badge for rear as mine looking shoddy

Parts still needed at the moment..

Porsche fitting kit Awesome GTI want £220
Porsche Pads probably DS2500
Allard solid boost pipes
Race 783 injectors £800 fitted

Well heres some pics of the car how she stands..

At the end of the day if the engine goes it goes.. I will just have to replace it and go for 300+ bhp...

Yer exactly mate and tbh the miles never put me off and I can't see why it would let go but you never know really a working engine only like £500-700 so not that expensive.

Need to time it right if and when the exchange rate recovers.

I remember buying my Sachs clutch for £465 and the same now costs nearer £700
