This is a heads up for people who are planning to go hybrid or big turbo setups on there 1.8Ts.
We are curently testing a new turbo setup for another company on a 1997 Audi A3 AGU.
Basically is a full K04-023 (TT LCR S3 225bhp turbo) core and wheels squeezed into a k03 turbine housing. It seem they guy building the turbos has his the nail on the head and got it to flow perfect.
So far the live mapping session has managed to hit 274bhp 270lbft 22psi peak and 19psi held. This setup is running a forge actuator with yellow spring which is cracking open at the top end, so could do with a blue spring to gain another 10bhp.
The cars hardware setup is 2.5" FMIC and pipes, saab red injectors, 3"VR6 MAF, 80mm TIP, full turbo back exhaust, ported stock exhaust manifold.
I have the guys at Relentless to produce a k03 high flow manifoldm which should help take this setup to 290bhp+, and maybe on the limits of the turbine flow.
From what I have seen so far this turbo setup out performs the CR RS6 hybrid by far, its make the power with less effort and flow much better across the whole rpm range.
I will try and get some graphs up when I have finished..
more info can be found on ASN user name beachbuggy (Dan)

where was you dude im working in trefoerst ind est at the mo so may see me most mornings if your about
-
Very nice results!! agu ftw!!!
-
Awsome dude youl see me tomoz then hopefully I usually catch a lift an give the bora a break but im in on my own tomoz
These turbos sound mental and the credit card needs a tuning  Hurry up R-tech
-
Wow that's impressive!
-
Just read abit on ASN and WOWWW I cant wait for these turbos
-
this does make me moist........ so water meth is not necesery? and also it is a k03 inlet (where the tip goes on)?
-
Same K03 fitment mate but tip will need changing from what im reading as the k03 inlet will be bigger.
Same manifold used but ported, Same down pipe used. Im assuming youl need a bigger outlet too so new intercooler pipework for better flow.
This has now but a brick wall in my way atm and looks like the stage 2 custom mapping will be on hold until further notice  I still need a solid flywheel conversion anyways.
-
not causing an argument but hasnt badger5 produced a ko3 which can handle 300bhp+?
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=304931
-
yes and no. Bill does have a 332bhp turbo in a ko3 frame, but it's not really accessible to the masses in a typical sense. more an exercise in what can be done
-
These little k03's arent so little no more
I want!
-
I have a k03s and a k04 so Wots the best do I just put k04 on or mix them both to geva??
-

just hurry the fook up and send me that ko3s mate

I too have both but I was gonna mix them to not need a new down pipe etc
-
Hi.
This is one of my turbos.. Honoured to be recommended by R-tech...
It was specially made up for an ASN member as he wanted to stay with the k03 platform rather than converting to a k04.
We looked at making something that gave s3 performance but in a k03. Everything used is readily available on the open market,
Badger5 ported exhaust manifold
Large Fmic
Injectors
Stock k04 silicone tip
S3 maf
3"dp and decat
R-tech mapping
The turbo is a direct fit for the k03 and k03s but will need a k04 tip.
If you need any info please feel free to pm me.
And thanks for the positive comments Nick, means a lot .
-
so would the forge fmic still work with this?
-
Or THS?
-
it's up to you to pipe them up lads, but anything can be made to work yes. using the ko4 comp housing means it'll come out in a slightly diffrent orientation, I'm not sure if Dan welds the ko3 outlet kink onto the ko4 housing or not, but either way, it wouldn't be difficult to adapt with a few bits of silicon.
Dan, I had no idea you were on here! Seen your username loads of time and had no clue it was you :)
TOop result matey :)
-
This is a picture of the exact turbo.
It's a direct k03 bolt on
(http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn238/danmlittle/photo-83.jpg)
-
How much are these turbo's?
Would it be on an exchange basis?
If it is exchange what would the cost be exchanging a k03s turbo?
-
That's interesting Dan, I see you've clocked the housing and welded the 90 degree outlet from the ko3 com housing onto the ko4 cold side :)
Impressive stuff. Custom actuator bracket too given the clocked housing?
-
Intrested in exchange basis
-
you've just thrown my idea of leaving it alone once mapped wide open, stop doing this to me
-

Stop kidding your self, that is why you frequent the forum so often!

Yes clocked housing and then k03 outlet is welded on to give an indentical k03 fitment. K04 housing is obviously bigger so it needs modifying to fit and the actuator bracket is a stock one but redrilled to fit and give correct movement on the waste gate.
Turbine housing is machined and ported to flow better and be less restrictive
While the turbo makes the power it's definitely down to the other parts and the map that gives it the performance it gained.
I believe 300bhp is achievable all be it a different spec ie comp wheel.
-
how do i get my hands on one of theseee
-
Pm me please

Pm me please
I could also be interested in one, could you pm a price?

would that be a better option than this.

That's for an a4! So yes for a golf or a3 it would as it wouldn't fit

you on about my post as its a direct bolt on i posted
-
Direct bolt on..yes for an A4.. Am I missing something? Aren't we talking transverse engines here. Sorry if I'm wrong or missed something

have a look further down the page m8, have mailed them n everything seems hunky dory for the golf.
Direct bolt-on replacement for the stock K03 on:
Audi A4 1.8t 1996-2005
Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t 1997-2005
Volkswagen Passat 1.8t 1998-2005
motors: AEB / ANB / APU / AGU / AMB ...
doesn't fit the 225HP 1.8T

All due respect, that's not a direct bolt on to the golf or a3! All the pictures show a turbo for the a4
-
kl no worries m8
-
So how much are these going for?
-
haha, bolt on my arse.
it's the wrong turbo, the wrong shape, for the wrong car.
there is nothing bolt on about that turbo, they are clueless and shouldn't be answering questions.
-
ok lol
-
Probably direct fit for longitudinal engines? NOT transverse.
-
think use should read the ad VERY carefully
(optional transverse mount conversion to match golf/Jetta/beetle.....FREE. (just ask! 514-913-2146)) ,
as said, have been in touch with the company, heres a couple of snippets from the mail.
I double checked and the AGU motor uses the same type of K03 as other 99-05 1.8T with transverse engine. so yes, our stage 1 and stage 2 upgrade will bolt directly to your engine, (except for the larger air inlet that requires a silicone coupler adaptor).
Yes review the auction again since all relevant info is in there.
if you want, I can offer our stage 1 K04 for 800$ including express shipping to UK. (5-6 biz days delivery time)
This one is good for an easy 260 HP and the low end response is great thanks to the full disc technology turbine wheel borrowed from mazda (also kkk turboed cars btw..)
my hearts set on it, plz dont take it away from me lol

why not just pm the guy makin the turbos on here get 1 from him am sure he knows what he is doing

self inflicted tho

Expencive hoby

Indeed expensive. Surely a ball park figure must be flying round for these? Why does it need to be so secret :S
Id certainly be wanting some graphs first before spending a good few hundred on a turbo.
-
Prices are not secret, but I'd imagine with Littco not being a forum sponsor it's not his place to go shouting about prices, so he's doing the responsible thing and keeping it off the forum :)
Hugely impressive results so far from all his turbo's that have been on dynos.
With CR's reputation for inconsistent supply and turbo failures, I can only see it being a matter of time before everyone goes to Littco for their 1.8T hybrids!
-
Sounds amazing! Once engines in ill be looking in to this!

Top bloke. Did a dealing with him last week and was very impressed as all was described accurately and generally a nice honest chap willing to help out and offer advice .
-
Any graphs? lol

This is isn't the max run. But will give you and idea
-
So eney 1 no how much these turbos are if u could pm me and let me no
-
so is this k04 internals in the k03 hotside or do you still use the k03 rod and exducer wheel? :undecided:
-
Probably modified k03 hotside internals in a normal k03 casing and k04 cold side and housing with the k03, outlet welded on to retain factory position of a stock turbo.
-
Its a K03 hotside and a K04 compressor housing with the K03 outlet ported and welded on.
The internals are K04 internals, K04 turbine and compressor.
Extra porting is carried out on the turbine to get it too flow better.
-
PM'd re price and availability
-
how aggressive are these hybrids? Could you run good figures on standard auq internals?
-
Any where/any turbo around 300lbft torque is a limit for 1.8T engines. Some fail before...some dont.
-
am i right in saying the AGU has forgesd internals anyway as standard
-
Hard to say, I wouldnt say they forged, just cast.
Rods still go first though.
-
I'm preeeeeeety sure AGU pistons are forged, but regardless of how they're made, NO 1.8T comes from the factory with rods that are safe for anything more than a moderate power upgrade.
Some get away with 300lbft for years on end, some throw rods in average st1 maps. it's just a waiting game, and you're always on borrowed time.
-
Are these being sold....?
-
Yes
-
Can you pm a price please
-
I cant see any messages at all... Isit due to my posts?
