Went to the VSCC driving tests day at Brooklands. Seeing 1920s and 30s cars being driven hard is great. As it was such a lovely day, had the sunroof open on the way home, first use this year. I don't have enough hair to feel the wind through it but it was nice to feel some fresh air for a change!

Changed the thermostat housing and water pump. Quite a job, but new parts fitted, coolant bled and first drive done and coolant level stable.

Removed the wheel arch liners and gave the surrounding areas a good clean. No sign of corrosion- I was a little concerned after watching Volkswizard’s recent post

Lowering springs installed today. I'd kept some spacers from my previous Golf and fully intended on fitting them today when I got the car home, got the spacers out of the shed but for some reason it seems I've got rid of the bolts!  :undecided:

What size do people recommend for good fitment with Brescia's?

I run 8mm and 12mm but why not just buy the bolts? instead of buying a full new set of spacers and bolts?

I've got 15mm on the front and 20mm on the back and it looks pretty spot on, but I get a tiny bit of rubbing on the front if I go down a dip too quickly. Haven't yet taken the screw out of the liner to see if that makes a difference.

Yeah that's the plan just wondering what people run on the front. I need to double check but I'm fairly certain I've got 15mm ones currently so might go for a 10/12 up front maybe.

Got mine booked in for a thorough clean inside and out with a local detailer. For various reasons washing it myself is just never going to happen. If that goes well I may see about a paint correction at some point but I will need to get a regular slot for a maintenance clean.

Spacers ordered for the front and bolts for the back. 40mm is the correct length for 15mm spacers?
