Dirt has to be evenly spread and left undisturbed just like freshly laid snow.
Anything else messes with my car OCD and I develop a nervous twitch

I'm with you on this one. It makes me go cold when I see dirty cars with finger prints on the tailgate. There are handles on the inside of the tailgate for a good reason.

I have just done an interim oil change on my car.

I was a bit dubious about the plastic sump plug but it all seemed to go ok. I did fit a new one, but the old one still looked perfectly good.

About to do the same on mine. Shocked at the price of 509 spec oil. Oil and filter are over £80 even with a good discount.  Still makes vw fixed price servicing look a bit less expensive. Usually use the plastic sump plug again.

Gave my mk7 a good well deserved clean ready for the winter months, few hours spent on the car today but im sure it wont stay clean for long

Fortunately mine only needs the 504 spec stuff. I think I paid about £35 all in for 6 litres of Fuchs, and £11 for a genuine filter.

Finally got round to changing the Time settings with VCDS to (hopefully) change the time tomorrow automatically.

Today I disconnected my soundaktor.

Even in eco setting it was there in the background.

One thing that it has revealed is that the EA888 isn't a bad sounding engine for a 4 banger. It is just a bit quiet.

Set my soundaktor to 0% using vcds but still seem to have some sound - unless it is the genuine engine sound?

After 4 weeks I finally cracked and gave the car a quick once over, really need to coat the front ppl with ceramic coat but don't have the time, the rest of the ceramic coat is on coming a year and it's working flawlessly.

Mostly only washed it to apply a rain-x type coating (Anglewax H2Go) to the windscreen, and change out the carpet mats to rubber.
