Anyway, pricing disagreements aside, maybe the best way to go about this is a wireless charger from Amazon and a wireless carplay dongle. I quite like the cupholder cover as a place to put my phone, and I've often wondered about experimenting with getting a charging coil on the underside of that (also being able to be slid away). I think that would be pretty slick.

Had 4 new PS4S fitted today. They'll be getting a good run up north on Saturday when we go on holiday to Yorkshire.

I just plug my phone into the USB port in the dash cubby and then choose if I want CarPlay or not?

I checked my tyre pressures today, and found this bulge in the tyre.

it has been an expensive month as the insurance also had to be renewed.

I know that the wheels are dirty but I lost enthusiasm for doing it after this.

I know how you feel. I just renewed my insurance and replaced all four tyres. Really looking forward to my CC bill...

I had to buy my daughter some computer stuff for Uni as well, so my credit card is certainly going to have grey hairs this month.

At least it was only two tyres not 4 needed.

I fitted my d-dock and I’m really happy with it. I agree that it’s expensive and not for everyone but it will make using CarPlay easier for me. Wireless CarPlay would definitely be more convenient (we have it in another car and my phone doesn’t come out of my pocket as the battery drain doesn’t seem as bad as thought) but the reviews on the dongles were mixed.

I haven’t used the fixing tape but the dock does move when I take the phone out (if I don’t use my other hand to hold the dock in place). Danny (the guy who makes them) says that you can still take the dock out once it’s stuck in but it will take some wiggling. I’m going to see if the width and height are all good for a week or so and maybe try some velcro first.

Took a little bit of fiddling, but it's working really well now:
£22 for the print, a little of my time and £6 for a 90degree usb cable.

Finally changed over to the private plate I bought back in Feb/Mar. I went for a pressed aluminium short plate for the euro look. Now I just need to figure out how to fill in the giant holes that the old mount left. Has anyone done similar and had good results? I don't really want to go for a plug type thing, I'd rather do it properly with touch-up paint and some sort of filler.

Minus the holes, looks much better IMHO
