 Just discovered there's a cost involved in getting voice activation activated lol
Crazy they just don't include it.

You have to pay for activation. From memory I think it was about £250 - £300. I was fortunate that someone else paid for it as a present. The only thing I have used it for previously was calling phone numbers which isn’t that successful and I know there are several other ways to do that. I think it covers most functions of the infotainment system. TBH if I had to do it again I’m not sure I would. The idea was more appealing than it is useful in practice, hence the limited use I have made of it.

It's included as standard with Nav Pro but an option on Discover Nav. It's not worth paying VW for but plenty of guys can activate it at a fraction of the price. Argument would be it's pretty crap anyway so why bother 👍

Not the same system but I had it on a car previous to the Golf - novelty soon wore off, hence no tick on the option sheet this time around.

I have voice activation in my car, tried using it once didn't work. I have an iphone so using "Hey Siri" is much easier and very accurate, even when the phone is in the door pocket. From memory the voice control button uses Siri or the android version when connected via carplay

When you come up with voice activation worse than Siri, you know you've gone wrong.

Seriously though, car makers should just give up, and let the companies that actually do that stuff lead, like Polestar and Google (or Apple Carplay/ Android Auto, which VW are obviously already doing)

Removed the mudflaps from the car, realised how poorly the previous owner fitted them... once I've the car washed to remove the dirt outline I'll put up a picture.

Make sure you burn them in the bonfires you have at this time of year
