Made some changes with the free month of Carista -

- off stop/start by default
- on flash rear lights and hazards in emergency stop
- off warning for key left in ignition
- set to US warning for seatbelts
- puddle lights both sides when reversing
- cleared about 10 error codes
- probably more but those were the main ones I think!

Happy with that for £20 for the dongle (would pay that just to get rid of stop/start!).

What’s the US warning for seatbelts?

It's probably a recorded message from Trump telling you that taking a Hydroxychloroquine sulphate tablet before every trip is a safe alternative to buckling up.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Probably no warning at all, afterall you are free to do what you like, including dying in a RTA... with an additional advert for private medical insurance and/or funeral services.

Anything else would be Communism, just like the Soviet Union.

I’m liking some of the answers! I thought it would be that it dings 3 times if not wearing a seatbelt and then stop. However, it’s actually it bings 3 times every time you start the car! Now set to “off”....

Bought a TCR backbox  from Germany just waiting for it to arrive now😉

What are you fitting it too and where did you order it? Looking forward to some feedback

I'm fitting it to a Gti , I got it from here ....https://shop.ahw-shop.de/vw-golf-7-gti-tcr-nachschalldaempfer-original-endschalldaempfer-sport .... just wish it would get here !!! PS it was £30-40  cheaper than TPS Teesside even with the postage

Been visiting family up north (near Stockton) so a 500+ mile round journey. On the way up on Friday we got stuck for 50 minutes due to a 3 car, 1 artic and 1 AA van towing a car accident on the M25. 37C so the aircon kept the engine running for quite a bit of that, even so, averaged over 42mpg. I was rather uncomfortable in my seat which is unusual however I think that was due to the way I sit whilst wfh as it was fine on the way home. With better traffic the car was a smidgen under 45mpg today, excellent! This car makes a brilliant tourer!

Out of interest Watts, how were you using the DSG gearbox during this longer run?  Did you just leave it in D and let it get on with it for the journey, or were switching in and out of S, or using the paddles some/most of the time?

Have you found much of a difference with how the DSG box reacts now that you have fitted the pedal box to your TCR?

100% only in D. Just let it get on with it. I've had the pedalbox on for so long I can't really think back to how it was without. As far as I remember it takes quite a bit of the "pause" out of the response, not as quick as in S but a vast improvement as without the pedalbox. I may switch it off again soon just to remind me of the benefit of it.
