Fitted the 8 inch glass screen from the MK7.5, what a huge improvement!
Straight swap, no coding required. Highly recommended upgrade.
Only took 10 minutes... :cool:

Agree the new screen looks great. Did you buy the screen from VW? Really surprised it took only 10 mins, good job!

Does everything work properly. These have usually got component protection on, unless you bought it with it already removed.

I bought the screen and surround from a guy on a Golf R parts forum, he'd upgraded it with brand new from VW but was trading his car so swapped it back to stock. The screens are easy to find as they're common to a few models of VW, it's the surround that is hard to find used. You just need to keep searching and get lucky or buy new.

You must have MIB2 and a 6.5 inch screen to start with to have the right resolution, then it's a straight swap. Doesn't work if you're on MIB1. 2016 was change over year I believe so all clubsports should be fine for example, you also need Car-Net for full function with the APP button going to Android Auto or Car Play.

Just filled up with V-Power, thought i'd share with you a photo of what Google Maps looks like on the new screen.
Much better than the other screen and this still isn't on full brightness either...
