Just got home and noticed this

If I wasn't getting the work carried out FOC then I'd never step foot in there again.

How on Earth do they get handprints on the car there if they were just doing a key fob?
They weren’t using it as a prop for a porn movie being shot on their premises or anything were they?

out of interest, what would you search for for said porno?

It’s a Golf, so maybe search for ‘hole in one’ on PornHub?  Just make sure the browser is in incognito mode and the mrs isn’t home

Replaced the faulty fuel flap actuator. Nice easy job and no swearing required  New one has a different part number so hopefully it'll be more reliable. Here's the little blighter:

Don't they fit parts to last anymore? By master switch do you mean the switches on the drivers door?

Don't they fit parts to last anymore?

The whole filler flap assembly is very flimsy at best and if you look closely at a lot of less obvious parts beyond what you immediately look at on a Golf they are quite cheaply made.
It’s not just VW though.

It’s no surprise they dropped the optional longer factory warranty.

I'm sure they weren't losing money on the extended warranty on average, but so few people keep a car beyond 3 years, they may not have felt it worth their while.I did have one claim on my Golf R at about 42 months - DAB just couldn't pick up a signal - the booster unit/coil in the boot lid had fried. It was replaced.

Sophisticated electricals are the bane of all modern cars - i'm sure there'll be plenty of perfectly roadworthy cars beyond economical repair at 8-10 years old in the near future because some little black box of tricks has fried rather than a major mechanical fault with the drivetrain.

That being said, VWs seemed to lose their "tank-like" feel when the MK7 turned up with its thinner hot pressed bodywork.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yes mate.. However my dealer is clueless. Rang them to order it,said the drivers side window switch had broke. Took the day off to have it fitted, turned out they ordered the single switch then blamed me for not telling them its a pair.??  Anyhoo, drove the 10 miles to another dealer, sorted £35 for the part £45 labour.

Gave it just a pre-wash...too cold to do a full maintenance wash (do it next weekend), screen wash top up & then looked at the coolant bottle wondering if i'm confident enough to try get that silica bag out without splitting it.....bottled it lol
