Ordered a Racingline turbo elbow and inlet pipe. Insurer wanted a few pounds more and an increase to my compulsory excess, I hope it's worth it! Still, for reasons I've not been able to understand, I've been itching to do it

Had an acceptable offer on Tootle for my Golf R - as much as I was expecting in a private sale - 2 different independent dealers had a bit of a bidding war and got it up to £17300. Over 46 months driving for £10700 depreciation suffered - £233 a month depreciation. That's cheap motoring for a £32k RRP car.

It should be gone next week when the Yorkshire dealer picks it up.

Pulman offered me £16k for it when I put the car in Tuesday evening for warranty work (sorting DAB reception). They would've had it up for £20-21k - Prets seem to pay for themselves - fetching a grand more on the forecourt - seems Cadiz wheels are less than popular.

Got a busy weekend stripping out the dashcam and giving the interior a bit of a shine and polish.

It's still in with them. They established yesterday that the head unit isn't biggered by connecting a donor aerial and DAB was back. They are going to check the wiring back to the aerial, which I believe is the rear window's heating elements on pre FL Holfs without nav or shark fin. If there's nowt wrong with the wiring (why should there be?) then I presume they'll replace the tailgate window or any signal boosters contained somewhere between the head unit and tailgate.
