I think that's the only thing that lets the Golf down. The boot is pathetic.

I don't think it's that bad, plus I find the rear seats very roomy (not that I use them myself of course!) and I suppose some boot space has been robbed for that. We just have a lot of stuff to move around at this time of year.

You could always buy another car if the golf boot is no good for you. For the size of the car the boot is fine, I've had family and cases in the car and always got everything in. It's no good for coffins though

I came from an Octavia vRS so I guess I was spoilt. I still stand by my comment that the boot size is a let down, if I was to choose 1 negative that would be it.

I'm pretty sure the boot was probably the same size when you bought it as it is now..... Not really something you can complain about post-purchase

Please forgive me if I'm stating the bleeding obvious, but I assume you're aware the Golf has a two step boot floor?  With the floor in the upper position it allows a flat floor with the seats folded down.  With the floor in the lower position it liberates a significant amount of additional boot space with the seats up.

It wouldn’t surprise me if by some magical jiggerypokery with numbers that the boot space of the mk7 has “more capacity” than a mk5 or 6 but it sure holds less luggage.

Oh, and my parcel shelf lives under the boot floor as the exhaust sounds better that way

The mk7 boot is larger in litres than the 5 and 6.

I'm not complaining about it, I'm just saying if there was one thing I'd choose that lets the car down then that would be it.

I know what you mean. But you’d be surprised how much you can squeeze in when you have to!
