What have you done to your MK 7 today ?

They're poor but I've read/heard before that a common misconception is that reverse lights are there to light up your path. They are not. They are there primarily to warn people behind you that you're reversing...

I find with the reverse camera, even if it is pretty dark, the camera still shows quite a good, bright image. Not sure how it does it, but its effective.

Mine are pretty bright on my 7.5, a lot better than on my 6 where most of the time I thought it wasn’t working

They're LED on the 7.5 so maybe that's made them a bit better.

Another few I’ve done that I like:

- remember seat heating setting on engine restart
- remember last set high beam assist setting
- DRL’s only for coming home / leaving home
- only fold door mirrors if you long press the lock button (or long press door handle with keyless). Really like this one!

I also tried the exhaust flaps mod but reverted it again. Way too much drone for me to tolerate.

I bought an amazon tablet on Black Friday for it. £30!

Would you mind sharing the coding for the folding mirrors tweak??

depends what modules you have in your car, but I think you enable the comfort mirrors in both door modules for it fella

I’ve have the mirrors currently folding when the car locks and opening when the car unlocks. I was hoping to adjust them such that they only open when the car starts, not when the car is unlocked. I know that Audi’s often work this way.

Early MK7's did work that way. Not sure if its possible to code newer cars to do it.

But sometimes you want to open the car to pack or unpack something, and don’t need the mirrors opening/closing.

Much simpler to just switch the folding off, not entirely sure about the obsession with auto folding mirrors. Probably only folded mine 3 or 4 times since I had the car....

Why does it matter if they fold/unfold?

Far simpler in my book to have them fold when you lock the car, then they always fold and you don't have to think about it.

I guess auto folding mirrors are the same as ACC, auto hold, auto start stop, auto light and auto wipers, some people have an OCD about "lack of control"... personally, give me less things to think about, I've got enough on my mind most times!
