I've never liked the Belvederes on my own car but they look great in that shot.
A couple times now I've seen pics of Belvederes on non-Clubsports and they look really good.
A bit of lowering can help I guess.

I think it's the height of the Clubsport rear spoiler that makes the wheels look small on the ED40.

But they look really good in that pic on the GTI :afro:

Interesting. Isn't the point of eyebrows that they are normally colour coded so they make the headlights look smaller/meaner? Very Max Power like though

Is that utter bilge magazine still in print?

I can remember Vicki Butler-Henderson starting her career out writing for that godawful publication.
She's never made it any further in my estimations after that episode of her life!

Thanks!

Must admit when I first saw them on a demo Clubsport I didn't like them... but the arch gap did look huge on the rear so maybe that also played a factor in that thought too.

I too wasn't a big fan when I first saw them

But I took a bit of a gamble - my Austin's when I bought the car had two wheels needing a refurb, then i had a very light brush with a kerb avoiding someone on the wrong side of the road meaning 3 wheels needed work. As long as I had the car I'd been looking for a set of OEM 19's and just couldn't find a set at sensible money.

This set came up for sale, barely covered a 1000 miles and at very sensible money so I took a punt. Glad I did too

Well yesterday / today I've had some VW Racingline lowering springs installed, 034 Motorsports dogbone insert and removed the clutch delay valve.

The springs drop the cars height nicely without making the ride harsh.

The dogbone mount insert removes some of the slack from the pendulum mount, sharpening up gear changes and helps eliminates wheel hop.

Removing both the clutch delay valve and the clutch assist spring combined with the dogbone mount and short shift adaptor has totally transformed the manual shift for the better.
