Personally I'd have avoided all this grief and hassle (it was totally inevitable tbh) and just have accepted the offer of the new car straight away. Life's too short.

I still would have to go through all this because I'd be keeping this car until the new one was built.

It's an absolute no brainer as far as I would be concerned. If your having so many problems you should accept the new car without hesitation. Would you not be getting the 7.5 for basically no cost and saving you a huge amount on depreciation.

The only thing I would be paying for is options, not including paint because I've already paid for it on my car and because I'd be going from 5 door to 3 door and the only option on my Mk7 is paint and sound and sport they will through in a DSG box or £1k of options.

It is not all about money though, as I've said before I can't get the facelift with either the colour I have or the sound and sport pack and I really like my car except for its faults which are getting sorted to a degree.

It sounds like it has too many faults though and they might resolve a few but probably not all. I think you've been unlucky and received a Friday car

Booked car in on 20th June to have a new wheel fitted.
I've spoken to the service department and they have assured me that the wheel they have received from VW is a brand new wheel, still plastic wrapped.
Hopefully this will be the end of it.

I heard from a friend who works in a VW dealers in Manchester that they got in the umpteenth wheel for a fussy customer but one of the guys dropped it but that it should be okay because it was in wrapping

Thinking the same but I would rather have this car but if it is not right in a few months then I will get a new car.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's at least one more feck up before I'm satisfied with the wheel
And I am not a fussy customer

Can't you pop in beforehand and inspect the wheel in its box?

If it was me I'd consider taking the wheel from them and get it fitted at someplace like a wheel specialist where they know how to fit tyres and then drop the wheel back to them but only after as Exonian said going in and checking the wheel over really really well.

Btw you can never be too fussy
