Had the first service today at 10,300 miles. Got them to check my creaky door trim too. They agreed it was a warranty issue and will order a new door card and if possible just the black plastic trim which is the source of the noise. It has a bit of give just where my elbow rests causing the plastic to flex. Just got to get it booked back in. They didn't clean my car as requested so all good there too. I was pleased with the service as the customer care was good, the service advisor helpful and they completed it in under an hour while I waited. Plus, and most importantly, I didn't have to pay! One cheeky point though, they charged on the invoice for a bottle of screenwash which they didn't use as I topped it up only a few days ago. Plus, at this time of year, a bottle of screenwash can be diluted to make 5L of fluid. If I'd have been paying I'd have asked for the rest of my bottle.... Still, all said very pleased unlike when my OH's Lupo went to another local dealer for a service and they said on collection it needed the aircon servicing. Well, they would've struggled with that since it doesn't have aircon!

While there I had a quick look at the shiny new motors, the new Tiguan looks smart but not my kind of car but was rather taken by the new Up Beats, good looking basic car with a very smart interior. Looking on the VW configurator it seems it'll be available with the 90PS 1.0 TSI soon for a relatively small premium over the basic 60PS model. I'd get one for my OH if she can ever be prised out of her Lupo (had it 13 years and just done 40k miles!)

Finally got around to fitting door warning leds to all four doors and even managed doing it without breaking a single panel clip. I am so proud of that  :smug:

Also fitted body coloured vinyl wrap to the inside of VW emblem.
Then I decided to mess around and wrapped the red grille stripe with gloss black vinyl to see what it looks like. Jury is still out on this though..... what do you guys think? Be brutally honest

It looks OK Dave, but I think with the red stripe in the headlights, it looks better with the red grille stripe. Just my opinion though!

This is the exact thought I am having too. I would do the stripe in the headlights too but I'm well too scared of taking the lights apart - screw that up and it will cost a small fortune to put right.

Sorry not a fan of the wrapped grille stripe.  Seems like it's having an identity crisis - is it a GTI, a GTD or an R, if you get my meaning, as even though it's gloss black it reflects sort of silvery (in pics anyway). Plus as said, no continuity with the headlight stripe so looks a bit disconnected and random.  But if you like it :-)

It looks like the wrong grille was fitted by mistake.  Not a fan either.

If you go see the new Jason Bourne film, the bad guy chases him in a gti ..

Saw Bourne today, it was a MK6 GTI, but didn't sound like a MK6 GTI, sounded like something with 6 cylinders and a turbo - probably overlaid sound rather than genuine engine noise.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Straight back to halfrauds where I found they didn't have any more in so they've ordered me one.

Very frustrating!  Pressure washer malfunctions, especially when you are in the middle of, or about to commence a wash are really annoying, but even more so on a brand new machine.   Hope the replacement comes quickly and you can soon pop your snow foaming cherry.

Importantly, does he catch him in the MK6? If not he's going to need the MK7 or maybe even an R
