It fits !!!!

I'm just back this weekend from my business trip to Saudi, and its been such a glorious weekend, i thought i would give the fitting of the diffuser a try.

i was lucky in that i managed to get the old diffuser off without any damage (in case it needed to go back on), and then compared the fitting tabs on the old diffuser with the new one, and they all looked in the same position to me.

a bit of juggling and the new diffuser went on a treat. Secured underneath just aft of the rear wheel arches by the proper VW GTI style fitting brackets. Well pleased, even though it does highlight how weedy the factory tailpipes are in diameter (my wife's Polo Blue GT chromed tips i purchased for it, fit straight over the factory pipes !) Might have to find some larger ones at some stage.

Anyway, to the pictures, hope you like

Good on you for trying.
Maybe the normal GTD one is the same from a low down angle but it seems lop sided. I think its because the valance doesn't really encase the rear pipes. There seems to be a really big gap around them.
I do like the way there is an overhang around it like the GTI.

Hopefully that's scratched your itch.

I came home from work today to find my new neighbours gathered around my car
Apparently they'd lost their new cat a couple of days ago and the dad thought he saw it underneath my car a few moments before I arrived home.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the bonnet to find the cat lay on top of the engine!!
Has anyone experienced anything similar ?

No, but some years ago, I unknowingly locked my neighbours cat in my garage when I put my car away. When I opened the garage door the next day, I had paw prints all over the bonnet and roof; fortunately no scratches. The cat shot out of the garage as if it's tail was on fire!

One of my neighbours now has a new cat that's very inquisitive, and I always check it hasn't crept into the garage before I close the door. Apart from not wanting to lock someone's cat up, I don't want it to jump on my car and scratch the paintwork.

Lucky you didn't drive off with the cat under your bonnet, although hopefully, it would've had the sense to get out and not get harmed if you started the engine.

Never had a cat get up into the engine compartment, but one of my cats is obsessed with transit vans and if there's a van parked in the driveway with doors open, he will appear out of thin air and jump into it. Whenever we have workmen at our house (as we do atm), we have to train them to check their vans every time before driving off.  I live in fear of the cat being driven off and jumping out miles away.

My brother in law brought a cat from work to our place when he was going out with my sister(he is actually married to my other sister-long story) and he didn't stop once on the 120 mile journey. It was in a Renault 18 so that will give you an idea of how long ago it was. Back then it was easy to even see the ground through the engine bay.

I have on one occasion opened the bonnet to see cat hairs on the fabric battery cover and bonnet sound proof material, You can see the ground at the back of the engine and I think our cat has climbed up between the turbo and battery when its warm.  its a little odd but that's the only reason I can think for the cat hairs in that location...

There must be a space in the market for a tool to remove cat hairs from under bonnet areas! This time next year, I'll be a millionaire, Rodney!

Retro fitted all 4 door warning lights to the new GTD, after "liberating" them from the outgoing White GTD.

Took me many weekends to fit them a year or so ago, today took only 1.5 hours from start to finish ( with the door trims off in a round 3 minutes each !).
