First mod since ditching the Jag - A stage 1 Revo map. The car is absolutely bloody mental now. Its significantly stronger than it was with a DTUK box.

2015 MK7 Golf R 3 door, DSG, lapiz blue, 19" wheels, winter pack, keyless entry, dynaudio and high beam assist.

Car looks lovely gtiaps.

Anyway, staying back on topic....

Following yesterday's interior clean, today I (just about) managed to dodge the drizzle and clean the exterior.

A wheel mitt is the way forward, keeps my hands scrape free. Your car looks great too!

Nice work Rebecca as usual. I was going to do likewise but couldn't summon the motivation with the crap bank holiday weather here

Wheel "woolies" are pretty good too but I've found after only 6 months or so that mine has gone very shabby. What I often do is use an older mitt that's getting a bit too wrecked to use on the paintwork. Helps save the knuckles.

Have you tried the wo-wo wheel mitt? It's very good and gives your hand good protection from being sliced.

Hi gtiaps, might as well post info here but feel free to PM me if you want any other info.

I use ValetPro Advanced PH Neutral Snow Foam sprayed on with a proper snow foam lance (with a pressure washer).  Out of stock below but google it and more suppliers come up.  IMO the best snow foam.

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-pre-wash/valet-pro-advanced-neutral-snow-foam/prod_1087.html

Snow foam lances - not cheap but last years if you look after them:  I use this one with a Karcher fitting:

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-pre-wash/snow-foam-lance-various-fittings/prod_371.html

This one is very good too:

http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.php/autobrite-heavy-duty-foam-lance-various-connectors.html

You can pick one up cheaper on eBay 9approx £20) but I don't know what the quality is like.

For the bucket wash I use a WoWo lambswool mitt.  The best there is IMO and 20% forum discount on all WoWo products when you enter code GTIFORUM20.

https://wo-wo.myshopify.com/collections/wo-wo-car-detailing-products/products/lambs-wool-wash-mitt-1

This is my usual shampoo:

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/car-wash-shampoos/dodo-juice-supernatural-shampoo/prod_620.html

For wheels - I use Bilberry Wheel Cleaner as a pre-wash

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/valet-pro-bilberry-wheel-cleaner/prod_499.html

Also use a set of Wheel Woollies.  I could not be without these, they are brilliant for wheels and many other jobs - tailpipes, lower part of bumper, intakes, foglights, rear diffusers etc.  Again, not cheap but last well if properly cared for and one of the best detailing investments you can make:

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/wheel-woolies-wheel-brush-kit/prod_1037.html

But cheapest on this detailing site

http://www.slimsdetailing.co.uk/wheel-woolies-pack-of-3.html

And last but by no means least - I use a WoWo Wheel Mitt to clean wheels and protect your hands from being shredded.

https://wo-wo.myshopify.com/collections/wo-wo-car-detailing-products/products/microfibre-wheel-wash-mitt

Hope that helps.

What have you been doing with your wheel woollies Joe?   Mine are 3 years old and still going strong.  They get a shampoo and thorough rinse after use, then squeezed out and left to dry.  The big one has a loose strand of fibre but that's been like that for 2 years and still hasn't fallen out.
