Gnasher, assuming you're the same on mk7 forum, did you have your push button replaced and was it different and if so could I get a pic, mines going and I can tell the dealer is gonna be a prick so if I can prove the part has been changed it may go smoother!

I did indeed have it replaced - never got a photo though. I'm not the first to have it replaced for that exact reason (which is the sharp parts of the N come off) so I doubt you'll have any problems.

They might check it first to ensure you've not been abusing it (how I don't know) but it's all good after that.

Bought some new mats for it.

From http://www.carmats2u.co.uk//vw-golf-car-mats-mk7-2013-onwards-2486-p.asp

I opted for the black Premier Super Lux with twin tone fabric edging in electric blue/black and R logo on fronts - push button fixing.  They are really excellent quality - very deep pile and extra wear pad on the driver's mat.  The blue of the two tone edging is brighter in the flesh than the pics show.  They are also available with a faux leather edge and in retrospect that might have matched the R logo better, but I quite like the more subtle edging, which makes the R logo stand out, but at the same time is more interesting than a plain black edging.  Like them a lot.

Some pics here (non in situ as too dark atm).

Booth: Can you repost that link, it doesn't work for me, all I get is a non working "www.carmats2u" to which I added ".co.uk" and customised the standard Golf 7 mats and stated "R" on the logo - can't see any Proper R mats by default. Do they come out about £53 for the set + a whopping £10 postage? Much better looking than the OEM choice.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

They look a lot better quality than the OEM ones. My drivers mat is showing a big dent even through I have only done 4000 miles. It'll be interesting to see how you get on with them.

Cleaned the Golf and left the Jag at the back of the drive very dirty!

Here you go MH

There are no pre logo'd R mats.  I ordered my specced mats adding that I wanted the R logo, then on receipt of the confirmation email I send some pics of the R logo. You could just send a pic of the one on my mats if you order.

Mine cost £60-45 inc delivery.

They are miles better quality than oem.  And having previously bought VW deluxe GTI ones for my mk6 I can tell you they are substantially better quality than those too.

I won't be putting them in till spring, as I'm using the standard oem mats as winters with all the mud etc, and saving these for better weather.

When they are in, I'll let you know how they stand up.

They do look good, I have noticed the wear in my mats already so not overly impressed with the quality. Will consider a set of these with twin red/black edges. Seem cheaper than oem too.

Few pics of the mats in situ.  As anticipated (and planned when choosing the edging design/colour), the blue footwell lights pick up the blue/black edging very nicely.
