I had my steering wheel replaced. There was a manufacturing fault which left sharp edges on the aluminium trim.

Dealer switched it no questions. It's perfect now

Well I was a bit quick on the perfect statement there. Drove to work this morning entered a motorway slip road and went to pull on the down paddle to drop a couple of gears. Where's the paddle???? No paddles!

Dealer ordering another wheel and I should get it changed again next week
If ever there was a face palm moment.

Washed and clayed the windscreen, then fitted my new aero twin wipers - also replaced the battery on the key fob after getting the warning on the dash

Had the same warning on mine this week too. Dead easy replacement.

That's mental about the wrong steering wheel. I've been on the end of some dealer cockups but that one takes the biscuit

Normally they'd look up the VIN of the car and order the correct part based on that.

To be fair I didn't notice until the next day but I've only had the car a couple of weeks so I'm not used to having paddles.

Mistakes happen, it's how they are dealt with thats the main thing.

Leicester Volkswagen by any chance ?? If so why doesn't this surprise me !!

It certainly was. Not the best introduction to their service department.

I won't go anywhere near there anymore. I have suffered once too often with their muppetry.

Listers Volkswagen. Either Nuneaton or Coventry for servicing but Coventry for sales. Great salesman I have dealt with there. Bought my last three cars from him.
