Oh congrats on the R Booth i have been a bit busy, it looks stunning with the prets

I still have the parking issues given the three door can have its moments

The NB made it down to Kent to see the family and there was a moment in a car park where i sounded a horn as the guy did not have parking sensors and could not drive

They need to do child free days at Legoland, i love the stuff and got the F40 to build, best toy in the world and reason why i chose my profession

Thanks wigit.  I really like the Prets with the black, they add a little finesse to it.  Although Cadiz also suit the darker colours, I think they are a bit chavvy and thuggish looking with black.

Speaking of people that cannot drive, my R nearly had a very short lived life.  On driving it back from the dealership last Weds, got to a main Canterbury roundabout on the ring road and some stupid woman decided to cross lanes without looking or indicating.  I had to take evasive action to avoid being wiped out.  Me and my partner just looked st each other in disbelief!

As for Lego, I love the toy and like building it, but am not such a fan of over commercialised theme parks.  That said I enjoyed the Star Wars area, and the 'Lego Miniland' recreations, especially London, the Industrial North and the NASA ones which were impressive.

As for the R? So far, so good.  Very impressed.

Had my start/stop fixed on Sat by VW they replaced the vacuum sensor. I think it probably works, not used it but the error message is definitely gone and scans all clean now with VCDS.

What problems were you experiencing with the Stop/Start?  How did you know you had a problem?

Got my R back today, the long-winded way - having 2 cars and only 1 legal driver (so far, the wife's driving test is later this month) in the household is a bit of a bugger.

First day in the new job at Prudhoe (11 miles west of Newcastle), drove the A1 there. Got a slightly early finish, drove the A1 to Newcastle centre  for some free evening multistory parking then jumped on the Metro to Sunderland, getting off at the stop a 10 min walk away from Pulman Durham. Pick the R up, drive it 10 miles due North through the Tyne Tunnel (ACC "no view" warning is up again - must be a system limitation), get home, walk to the Metro near home and get it back into the Toon to pick up the A1 and drive it home. Not the easiest way to do it, but the quickest way to get to Sunderland from Prudhoe before the dealership closed.

The R's drive home.....The new turbo sounds very nice, much raspier than before.  No, they haven't messed with the Soundaktor and turned it back up, that raspy noise heard is the raw noise with the windows open. My wastegate rattle sounds a little louder than before though.  I asked them to look at that. Characteristic noise or not, metal on metal means only 1 thing - wear.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I have finally got my car back after it was stolen two months ago,it's had a lot of electrical problems after the thefts cut up all the interior & will still need to go back in to have the drivers profile button fixed( no race mode for me) but enjoying having to car back anyway, I forgot how awesome it is.

Booth congratulations on your new car, can't wait to see after you've waved your detailing wand over it & I'm now slightly kicking myself that I didn't order mine on prets.

Gazmondo, I'm glad things are looking up for you after the awful theft of your R.  Really good to hear that you can start to enjoy it again and get past what happened.  That can't be easy.  Hope they sort the profile electrics out soon enough and you can really get to know it again afresh.

Thanks for the congrats.  Love the Prets, and the rest of the car's not too bad either, lol.

Yeah.. Great to see you've finally taken delivery of your R. The recent pics look 'Awesome!' 👍🏻

I wasn't expecting such a performance difference between the R and the GTi but boy was I wrong!  Hope you're enjoying your new R as much as I am.

Ragged my R on the way home today just to make sure it performs as expected with the new turbo. Realised that I was stuck in Normal mode 1/2 way home and changed to Race - they've restored my Soundaktor volume to factory settings!  Straight back into Normal mode.
