I will be on the road this weekend but only because I organised a birthday treat overnight trip to Legoland in Windsor for my daughter.  Sod's Law it clashes with my first weekend with the R.   So I'll be on the M25 and boring motorway on Sat then again on Sun!  Not how I would've planned it but needs must.  Detailing will have to wait too!

Still, there's always tommorow.

Ah, the M25 - the killer of driving fun, especially with those fixed speed cameras   Make sure you take up a couple of spots in the car park  - all those kids next to your brand new R - you're a braver person than me taking it there

The very thought makes me shudder!   All those snotty nose brats leaning up against my car (and I include my own child in that, lol).   I will arrive at the Lego hotel (if only it really was made entirely from Lego I might be interested) very early and find some forsaken corner of the car park and hide my R there.  There are certain criteria though that must be met.  Must be an end space, devoid of tree coverage etc.....

Give a building made entirely out of Lego a miss - did you see that James May program where he made a house out of Lego? Rain got in everywhere, capillary action on all the joins. Lego collecting and reselling is one of my hobbies - mainly specialising in the UCS Star Wars sets.

You look for the "Sheldon" space too? Getting visions of a certain episode of the Inbetweeners where they go to Thorpe Park.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I would imagine most of us on this forum are guilty of circling car parks looking for the "Billy No Mates" parking space

I've been doing a 'sheldon' most of today albeit in my lowly mk6, already had to contend with a packed Windsor car park, now the premier inn and tomorrow the horror of Legoland...

I have however done some recon using google maps satellite view and have identified 5 good spots in the car park that I'll be heading straight for

Yeah, I imagine we all have Sheldon parking spots.  I can spend an inordinate amount of time driving round and round car parks, searching for 'the one'.   by the time I've found one, it's time to go home.

Beddie - so you too have to endure the Legoland experience this week.  We are staying in the actual Legoland Hotel (that cost an arm and a leg!) so hoping that the parking situation might be a little better.  Will go on Google maps now and suss the situation out.

Cheers Steven.   Finally met James yesterday.  Lovely man, and not your archetypal car salesman.

Will post observations in the coming days.  Already made a few notes, lol.

Thanks Pinky.  No, the Beast (Amarok) is being taken off to Bury St Edmunds by my worse half for a boys rugby day out/beano.  Think I drew the short straw getting the Legoland gig.  :undecided:
