Just had the Autoglass guy by to fit my new windscreen (original one was cracked earlier this week).

I had a good look behind the trims around the windscreen - lots of room for dashcam wiring to be hidden tidily - I just need to get off my arse and buy a set! Still haven't decided between the quite subtle Blackvue 650 or the (supposedly) best Lukas 9750 that has the subtlety of strapping an SLR camera to your windscreen.

All the trims under the bonnet that were removed seemed to have logically placed fixings rather than the old Peugeots I used to maintain myself that seemed to be designed to be fixed only in a workshop with the engine dropped.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I've installed a few fun and some useful bits in the new GTI, you've seen them all before but anyhoo.

The Chinese import footrest:

Front and rear sill scuff plates as well as the internal trim:

Matt chrome 12v cover from Audi:

Black screenwash cap:

Correct warning triangle, part number 8K0 860 251 if you're interested.

And last but not least, OEM sun blinds!

I will take some decent pics of the car when i get to a decent backdrop.

Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

Looking good Jimble

What's it like to be back in a GTI?  You must like it, your certainly lavishing it with attention.

Jimble, did you notice that the original footrest is actually bigger in the DSG cars than the manuals?

I have the very same footrest as that in my manual GTI and I am planning to transfer it over to my soon to arrive DSG R.... but only recently I noticed that the DSG cars have a slightly bigger plastic footrest, presumably because the clutch isn't in the way. It appears that it still fits ok though!

Think my engine is beginning to loosen up. Just short of 2000 miles now and it finally feels like it's using those horses!
